(KP-23) Being Content is More Important Than Creating Content
Mindblowing innovation of an 18-yr old | Video to Change Your Perspective on Vulnerability | A quote on life
Life Lesson
Why do you create content?
To help the readers? To please yourself? To make money? To become famous?
You may have any reason whatsoever. In the end, everything boils down to ‘Are you having fun?’ ‘Are you happy doing these things?’
More than an ephemeral kick, does it give you lasting soul satisfaction? If not, then no matter how much of a big influencer you are, no matter how many millions of followers/subscribers you have, it counts to zero!
Anything for that matter doesn’t matter if you are not content.
Some people are content playing tennis, some are content writing poetry, some are content reading fiction books, some are content making rock music, and some are content creating content.
But if you are content by just being, then you need not do or achieve anything, you can just be. That’s it!
I think being content by just being is the highest form of contentment. Because you are not dependent on external factors to get contentment. Irrespective of what’s happening outside you are content inside. How blissful!
But unfortunately, just coming to this realization won’t make our lives drastically better. Experiencing contentment is completely different than just knowing it.
So, what to do?
We can take small, baby steps to experience contentment without achieving anything extraordinary:
Practicing gratitude
Disconnecting from social media
Embracing mindfulness
Prioritizing relationships
Developing self-compassion
Engaging in activities that bring joy
Simplifying life
Cultivating patience and most importantly,
Reflection and self-discovery
So, I will leave you with this:
Spend time understanding yourself, reflecting on what you truly enjoy, and what brings you a sense of satisfaction and purpose.
Positive Story to Change Your Perspective of the Future
Using the combined strength of the sun's energy and a dynamo alternator, Neel Shah, a Class 12 student at Zenith High School in Vadodara, Gujarat, has created a functional prototype of a solar-powered e-bike.
How cool is that!
“The dynamo is a motor run device which is attached to the tire. When the wheel rotates, it generates electricity through natural current. This means that while the solar panels charge the bike during the daytime, the dynamo charges it at night, without costing a dime,” he states.
The prototype has a relay charging mechanism, so even when it is operating, the solar panels are still actively charging it.
Neel claims that it takes around 8 hours to completely charge the bicycle and it operates up to 15 kms.
Youths like Neel make me hopeful for our future.
What do you think about this innovation? If you think this is worth sharing, please feel free to.
Video to Change Your Perspective on Vulnerability
The video is a TED Talk by Brené Brown titled "The Power of Vulnerability." In this talk, Brown discusses her research on human connection and vulnerability.
She shares her own personal experiences and discusses the importance of embracing vulnerability as a necessary component of human relationships.
In her TED Talk, Brené Brown offers a number of insights into the nature of vulnerability and how embracing it can lead to more fulfilling human connections. Some of the key insights she offers include:
Vulnerability is not a weakness, but rather a measure of our courage and authenticity.
Shame and fear can prevent us from embracing vulnerability, but they also limit our ability to connect with others.
To form deep, meaningful connections with others, we must be willing to be vulnerable and allow ourselves to be seen for who we truly are.
Cultivating empathy is a key component of vulnerability and connection.
Embracing vulnerability requires a willingness to take emotional risks, to be imperfect, and to acknowledge our limitations.
Vulnerability can be scary, but it is also a necessary ingredient for joy, creativity, and human connection.
Quote to Change Your View of Life
Nick Cave’s advice on life:
Read. Read as much as possible. Read the big stuff, the challenging stuff, the confronting stuff, and read the fun stuff too. Visit galleries and look at paintings, watch movies, listen to music, go to concerts — be a little vampire running around the place sucking up all the art and ideas you can. Fill yourself with the beautiful stuff of the world. Have fun. Get amazed. Get astonished. Get awed on a regular basis, so that getting awed is habitual and becomes a state of being. Fully understand your enormous value in the scheme of things because the planet needs people like you, smart young creatives full of awe, who can minister to the world with positive, mischievous energy, young people who seek spiritual enrichment and who see hatred and disconnection as the corrosive forces they are. These are manifest indicators of a human being with immense potential.
I choose to show my vulnerability to a person when I feel that it can be shown to that particular person. But with everyone else I choose to keep my guards up.
Infact in the first few meetings my guards are up. I try to give a small picture of myself in those meetings and see for the response. Depending on the response I take the decision.
👍Too good 😊
