Don’t be Ashamed to Seek Help (Therapy) When in Pain (KP-24)
Poem on fragility and brokenness | A sustainable, eco-friendly, luxurious mud house | On Being with Krista Tippett podcast
Life Lesson
There is no shame in seeking help for any reason whatsoever.
It is not an admission of weakness but rather an indicator of how courageous you are.
A belief I had long held since my college days was that I am self-sufficient. But I am NOT!
I thought I didn’t need anyone for my sustenance, especially emotional sustenance. That God made me complete and I don’t need nobody to support me.
Now I have realized fully that the belief ‘I am weak if I cry’ is outdated and irrational.
God has given us all the colors of emotions including grey and black too. So when these colors try to express themselves, don’t suppress or repress them.
Embrace and acknowledge them as part of your existence.
Seeking therapy, as support, when in pain is rather a mature and wise choice.
So whenever you find yourself overwhelmed or struggling, do not hesitate to reach out for help.
Just imagine as a gym is for physical fitness likewise therapy is for emotional fitness.
Positive Feel-Good Story
Have you ever dreamt of a home located in or around a city and still offering breathtaking and scenic views. A home which is as close to nature as a tree hut is. And located in a place where you can breathe clean air, drink pure water.
Moreover, that ideal home is sustainably and eco-friendly built that is also mindful of the existing ecosystem around it.
Well, let me introduce you to one such home that will change your perspective of an ideal home: Chuzi - a whirlpool. The home’s name stems from the swirls present in the ceiling.
To ensure that the construction of the roof did not interfere with the foliage of the tamarind trees around the house, the team chose a unique design.

Chuzhi is a sustainable dream come true, with its mud walls that comprise 5 percent cement and flooring done with reclaimed pieces of old wood pieced together.
Vinu, the architect of Chuzi adds, “The idea was to allow the natural ecosystem of trees and the surroundings to be retained as it is above the house, without compromising on the comfort of the inhabitants.”

Isn’t it just marvelous?

Poem to ponder
This week I am going to share a poem on fragility and brokenness:
The Unbroken by Rashani Rea
There is a brokenness
out of which comes the unbroken,
a shatteredness
out of which blooms the unshatterable. There is a sorrow
beyond all grief which leads to joy
and a fragility
out of whose depths emerges strength. There is a hollow space too vast for words
through which we pass with each loss,
out of whose darkness we are sanctioned into being.
There is a cry deeper than all sound
whose serrated edges cut the heart
as we break open
to the place inside which is unbreakable
and whole
while learning to sing.
